James Agbai, owner and general manager of the Maryland Marvels, announces that Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) will be the premier charity partner for the Maryland Marvels’ inaugural season.†
“I am excited and extremely happy about this opportunity to partner with an organization that I have a personal connection -- having had family that battled Type 1 Diabetes. Through my organization we will work with JDRF to educate the public and create awareness” commented Agbai.
JDRF was founded in 1970 and offers support for adults, teens and children who face the challenges associated diabetes. The organization has awarded over 1.3 billion dollars for research to find a cure for diabetes. The Maryland Marvels will collaborate with JDRF throughout the season at various games and events. For example, for every ticket sold to attend the ABA Maryland Marvels’ Pro Basketball Camp, the Maryland Marvels will donate $1 to the Maryland chapter.
The Pro Basketball Camp game will take place at the Edward St. John Athletic Center at the Severn School, located at 201 Water Street, Severna Park, MD 21146 at 4:30 pm. The public is invited to come out and support their favorite player as well as JDRF.††
